Iceland is filled with interesting sorcery museums, natural phenomena and beautiful dramatic landscapes! Iceland is also one of the only places you can witness the northern lights which is worth a visit in itself. It is a one of a kind place and they don’t call it the land of fire and ice for nothing.

This place is a dream – and the contrast between the warm water and the cold air is fantastic. This is a working spa and if you’re staying in Reykjavik it’s worth the pricey visit. Smear some silicone on your face – relax, and let the blue lagoon work its magic. This spa is a pretty popular place so I would take that into account for your visit.
Find The Secret Lagoon
A more natural option for enjoying the thermal pools of Iceland would be secret lagoon. This is more of a “locals” place so please keep that in mind when you are here! You might see more of the locals you intend to see (some folks come here topless which is normal) so either join or don’t.
Witness the Haifoss Waterfall
This waterfall is completely remote and is absolutely stunning. Park at the nearby Holaskogur camping cottage and take the 45 minute hike to this beauty! The height is staggering and will make you weak in the knees!
Walk Black Sand Beach
Reynisfjara is widely considered to be the most beautiful example of Iceland’s black sand beaches. In 1991, National Geographic voted Reynisfjara as one of the Top 10 non-tropical beaches to visit on the planet.
This beach is entirely made of black volcanic rock and sand and offers such an amazing feeling underneath your feet! The wonderful basalt columns and good views out to the sea stacks only add to the mystery and beauty of this place.
Witness Strokkur Geyser
Strokkur is Iceland’s most visited active geyser. It is also one of the three major attractions on the world famous Golden Circle sight seeing route, it is usually visited alongside Gullfoss Waterfall and Pingvellir National Park.
This geyser erupts every 5 – 10 minutes and will surely entertain you! Be sure to walk the whole path to see some smaller pools with a nice blue color, and other areas of the ground steaming from the underground heat!
Explore Latrabjarg Bird Cliffs
It takes at least seven hours to drive from Reykjavik to Látrabjarg – so if you are planning on spending some time here make sure you plan of the 14 hour round trip drive. If you are looking for dramatic scenic views – this is the place to be! Get up close and personal to the Puffin birds and seals – but please respect the wildlife and do not harass. This place is ideal for stunning views and bird watching – you’re literally in the sky.
Walk Through The Museum of Icelandic Sorcery & Witchcraft
If weird and interesting stuff is your thing, then you’ve come to the right place. You can literally spend a hour walking among the artifacts and reading up on Icelandic sorcery. Some of the stuff is downright unsettling like the pants made of human skin that was supposed to make you rich if you wore them. The entire museum is dedicated to the folklore and history of sorcery and witchcraft in Iceland.
Discover Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon
The Fjora river flows through this amazing canyon! This place is def worth a stop and serves as a fantastic place to take pictures! Sit and just be in awe of the beauty!
Snorkel in the Silfra Fissure
Icelands most famous dive sight – and just viewing this picture we can see why. It’s absolutely beautiful! Located in Thingvellir National Park this amazing water gives you up to 100m of clear visibility! A must do in the land of fire and ice!
SEE The Northern Lights in Iceland
This list would not be complete without mentioning the Northern Lights. Seriously, if you EVER get the opportunity to see this, do not pass it up. The Northern Lights can only be seen in a few parts of the world, Iceland being one of them!
