Clearwater lives up to its name and is the ideal destination for lovers and families alike! Clearwater Beach is the epitome of a perfect Florida vacation with sunshine weather all year round! Did you know that Clearwater holds the largest number of consecutive sunny days at 768 with an average of 361 days of sunshine? This white sandy beach is only 35 minutes west of Tampa Bay and 20 minutes from Tampa’s International Airport! Therefore, you can land and head straight to the beach! Clearwater offers a diverse scene of seafood restaurants, bars, marina’s and beach activities.
First Let's Talk About all the Free (& nearly free) Things to do on Clearwater Beach, FL
Of course there is the beach but there are more fun things to see! Friday’s are in my opinion the best day to go because of the night shows and vendors on Pier 60 at sunset. Clearwater Beach is great for families and party goers alike! Here are some free and nearly free things for you to enjoy during your stay.
- Movie Night On The Pier – check the Clearwater site for dates but it usually happens on Saturdays at dusk. You can check the site HERE for more information.
- Walk the strip and window shop at the variety of boutiques and clothing stores. Be sure to get a picture with Hulk Hogan!
- Hang out by Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill for drinks and live music! The grille and bar is kid friendly and they even have a volleyball net out front.
- The Palm Pavillion (just across the way from Frenchy’s) also has great food and live music. We love their blackened grouper tacos for $5 a piece!
- Walk the pier and go fishing while admiring the amazing views!
- Grab a drink at Jimmy Crow’s Nest for the best view of Clearwater Beach at sunset
- Rent some bikes and bike the main strip! There’s so many little side streets to explore!
Good Eating On Clearwater Beach
You can find great seafood anywhere on the beach – but these are my favorite Clearwater spots!
- The Palm Pavilion – particularly their wasabi scallops and blackened grouper tacos
- The Brown Boxer Bar and Grille – best pina colada’s in my opinion!
- Crabby’s Beachwalk Bar & Grille
- Shephard’s Tiki Bar & Grille – nice atmosphere and turns into more of a club scene at night
