Let me be crystal clear – a true resort will offer the most unique, luxurious, mind blowing experience that you’ve ever had in your entire life. While some folks like to go for the “all-inclusive” hotel package to alleviate any type of food planning etc -a resort will offer the utmost luxurious and tranquil type of experience that no hotel can light a match to. I don’t know what kind of princess you are but sometimes, I want to feel pampered and treated like royalty in the most exotic places in the world! Is that really such a crime?
Here is my list of boutique resorts that got it all baby including exclusivity and that luxurious pool you and I both dream about!
1. Villa Honegg, Switzerland:
Located in the heart of Lucerne at an astounding 914 meters above sea level Villa Honegg is nothing short of hypnotizing. To keep it simple, the hotel is surrounded by perhaps God’s most majestic creation – the Swiss Alps. The privacy experienced here is unmatched at this 23 roomed, boutique hotel overlooking Lake Lucerne. You might be thinking, wow only 23 rooms? Wow, Precisely. The less rooms the better when you’re talking about resorts. The staff have more time to focus on its guests. The restaurant at the hotel dishes out meals with seasonal and regional ingredients. So you truly are getting Switzerland’s finest in all regard. Now onto my favorite feature – the outdoor pool. This one of a kind scenic pool overlooking the beautiful Alps stays at a steamy 93 degrees so you can enjoy yourself even in the harshest Swiss winters. What makes this pool so unique is that it is connected to the spa inside, so you actually have to go through the spa to get to the outdoor pool. You have the most intimate seclusion while enjoying one of the best sights in the world.

Oh oh oh! great info here -> You can purchase 4 hours admission – for 90 CHF – to the entire spa facility which includes the indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, steam bath and gym if you decide this hotel is just a bit out of your price range. They include morning and evening hours. Might I add they do keep a limit on how many can be purchased – check online for more information on this HERE.
Alsoooo, I provided a video from Wildluxe Luxury Travel Show on YouTube that I think perfectly captures the experience at Villa Honegg in case your in any way doubting me.
2. Domes of Elounda, Crete:
Ah Greece, the motherland. Well, my motherland anyway and when I get there this is where i’ll be staying, Domes of Elouda. The suite and villas ONLY retreat sets the bar high on this list of luxury boutique hotels. The architecture blends seamlessly with the beautiful Cretan land and guests can enjoy private beaches, pools and the amazing spa all within walking distance. If you’re looking for the most exclusive experience (like me) you will definitely want to book a 2 bedroom Luxury Villa. Just click the link and you’ll see what I am talking about. The luxury villa allows you to enjoy panoramic views of the Elounda Gulf as well as Spinalonga Island in 100% privacy and discretion. In other words, you have the view all to yourself while enjoying a dip in your heated pool – perfect.

3. Amandari Resort, Bali:
High in the verdant hills of Bali’s north-central highlands that comes with the spiritual protection of a 1,400 year old Hindu shrine is the Amandari Resort. Yes, here you are deep in the heart of Bali. Upscale guests come for the resort’s sheer beauty and remarkable tranquility. Stone walkways connect the 31 private villas and each suite features private pools, outdoor dining pavilions and lush green gardens. Guest suites take the form of village houses featuring alnag-alang roofs and interior fragrances of flowers, coconut, teak and bamboo. Amandari offers a local, organic restaurant menu, a Balinese purification spa ritual and a 105-foot infinity pool. Beyond the stone walls lie rice fields, artisan villages and the cultural meca of Ubud. Prepare to relax for as long as you are here. Here is a video that I think captures the spirit that is Amandari
4. The Huka Lodge, New Zealand:
Huka Lodge feels like a grand country estate on its 17 acred manicured gardens settled along the Waikato River. Not only is the hotel visually stunning but the exclusive retreat offers a multitude of adventure packages for the out-of-towner. The staff and hotel will certainly make you feel beyond exceptional during your stay. The 25 suites are furnished with sophisticated oil paintings and antiques in the most quaint cottage like setting, equipped with a private terrace overlooking the river. But for the most luxurious stay, reserve the Owner’s Cottage and the Alan Pye Cottage, both of which offer fireplaces and kitchens equipped for a personal chef. My favorite feature about the Owners Cottage are the French doors that open out to your private terrace with a small infinity pool overlooking the Waikato River and Huka Falls. Imagine the night you two could have there? Take a look for yourself – I found this video on YouTube of Huka Lodge
5. Château de la Chèvre d’Or:
Nature is everywhere at Château de la Chèvre d’Or – but especially in the Panoramic Suite. Explore the multitude of sculpture filled gardens while enjoying the perfumed air with the scents of jasmine, bougainvillea and roses. Sunbathe naked on the terrace like a Queen while overlooking the Mediterranean sea and hillsides. Skinny dip in your private infinity pool and fall in love with the finer things in France. Life is a dream here. The 40 room boutique hotel features 32 rooms, 7 suites and only 1 Panoramic suite and you already know which one I need.
